The Saga private healthcare plans provide a choice of four levels of cover. Unlimited cover for day-patients and also in-patients and is a feature of all of the plans. Options include different levels of out-patient benefit, at different premium rates.
Super Health Plan is the top level of cover. In addition to day-patient and in-patient cover, out-patient benefits for treatment, diagnostic tests , scans, consultations, and physiotherapy is provided. Complimentary therapies (homeopathy, osteopathy etc.), oversees rescue or repatriation, ambulance, nursing at home and assistance towards serious dental work is also covered.
Secure - Health Plan is the next level of cover. Included benefits are eligible day-patient and in-patient treatment, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, out-patient MRI, PET and CT scans. There is also cover of up to £1,000 for treatment as an out-patient and for complimentary therapies and post-operative physiotherapy up to £350.
Saver – Health Plan is said to be one of the most popular of Saga healthcare covers available. At an affordable rate of premiums, cover is provided for private hospital care with costs for accommodation included and fees for surgeons. Also included is out-patient cover at £500 when it either is before or follows eight months of hospital treatment.
HealthPlan Support offers private health insurance with the lowest of Saga's policy premiums. This policy covers in-patient private hospital treatment and the surgery of cancer. There is also an NHS cash benefit of £100 per night (up to maximum 20 nights per policy year).
An added significant benefit is that none of the plans have an upper age limit.
All of the Saga health policies enable you to choose from a wide range of hospitals, day-patient units and scanning centres throughout the UK. It is also possible to upgrade (with additional premium) to include extra Saga London hospitals, through either the Saga Countrywide London Upgrade or the Saga Extended London Upgrade.
